As the designer of the Zot Artz art tools, I want to welcome you to the wonderful world of Zot Artz- Arts For All! Zot Artz began in 1990 with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to build the first painting wheelchair, Project Mobility. Made with an electric wheelchair, this first machine was large and whimsical. Four paint rollers and two side “thumpers” whirred into action while smiling drivers painted sidewalks and driveways.

The Zot Artz- Arts For All program developed from that single painting wheelchair. As the idea grew and developed, so did the machines. Small, compact, and portable, Zot Artz equipment is now part of a mobile art studio that brings workshops and in-service training to schools and other facilities throughout the United States. All of the equipment is designed so that participants with lack of fine motor skills can be successful. Zot Artz provides all individuals a greater chance to uncover their creativity. Instead of merely allowing the disabled to be included in traditional art activities, the program is designed specifically for individuals with disabilities and encourages nondisabled participants to join in.
