If you think that the National Library Service only provides resources in Braille, think again. This is an amazing resource! “National Library Service (NLS) is a free braille and talking book library service for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical, perpetual, or reading disability that prevents them from using regular print materials. Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS circulates books and magazines in braille or audio formats, that are instantly downloadable to a personal device or delivered by mail free of charge.” The application process is easy. If you have questions, NLS librarians are there to help — just a phone call away. Here in Michigan, the braille and Talking Bools Library (BTBL) librarians offer a variety of support services, including a Zoom book club, newsletters, and technology assistance. We cannot praise NLS and BTBL services enough.
Come paint with us at SMILES Center for Independent Living, Mankato, Minnesota, Saturday, June 1, 2024. We will be creating a big, bold, and beautiful mural on the street with SMILES and the Mankato community. All are welcome!
